Authenticity and Cambridge syllabus note
- This page is an index and study guide for the Cambridge Appendix 2 Hadith passages for special study.
- Cambridge states that these Hadiths are recorded by al-Bukhari or Muslim in their Sahih collections, many by both.
- The wording here is a meaning guide for revision. In the exam, students should rely on the exact Arabic and English passage printed in the Cambridge paper.
- Do not invent translations, references or stories. Explain the teaching, then apply it to Muslim belief and action.
What Paper 2 expects from these Hadiths

Community Life
Brotherhood, speech, neighbours, guests, charity, welfare, mercy, trade and unity.
Arabic + English

How students should memorise the Hadith passages
Do this
- Memorise the number, key Arabic phrase and English meaning.
- Group passages by theme rather than memorising randomly.
- For each Hadith, learn one belief point and one action point.
- Practise writing a short teaching paragraph and a short application paragraph.
- Use exact Cambridge passage wording when answering exam questions.
Avoid this
- Do not invent long stories around the Hadith.
- Do not quote uncertain wording as if it is exact.
- Do not write only a translation with no explanation.
- Do not ignore Arabic recognition.
- Do not confuse individual conduct with community life when classifying themes.
